Position Overview:
The Adjunct Instructor plays a pivotal role in empowering students by delivering engaging, effective instruction and support. This position collaborates closely with program leaders and various departments to enhance student success, promote retention, support certification efforts, celebrate graduation milestones, and facilitate successful career placements. You will contribute to the overall integrity and well-being of our educational programs and our students.
Key Responsibilities:
All adjunct and full-time instructors are expected to:
- Deliver Centralized Curriculum: Teach standardized distance education curriculum according to an assigned schedule.
- Adjunct Instructors may teach up to three classes at a time, work fewer than 30 hours per week, and are required to schedule two synchronous office hours weekly using designated scheduling software and virtual classroom tools.
- Full-time Instructors are expected to teach four or more classes concurrently, work 30 or more hours weekly, and must schedule five synchronous office hours weekly.
- Engage Students: Facilitate discussion forums and interactive course posts to encourage student interaction and engagement. Host weekly office hours and conduct regular outreach to students.
- Monitor Student Progress: Grade course activities and post grades weekly. Proactively track student performance and provide timely academic feedback.
- Support Student Success: Develop learning support tools tailored to students’ needs. Offer constructive and timely academic feedback, and perform weekly outreach to promote student success.
- Maintain Professionalism: Adhere to institutional policies, keep an updated faculty file, and communicate effectively with program leadership and students according to established expectations.
