Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field required. Current Ohio Teaching License or a commitment to obtaining certification by the start date required. A minimum of 1 year of lead teaching experience or possession of a degree in education required. Ability to remain optimistic, exhibit strong problem-solving skills, and demonstrate a commitment to personal and professional growth in a collaborative environment. A willingness to go above and beyond to help students succeed. Capability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced educational setting. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong flexibility, work ethic, and entrepreneurial spirit to handle significant responsibilities and prioritize effectively.

About the job

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic 4th Grade English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher for the 2026-27 academic year at KIPP Columbus. In this role, you will play a crucial part in shaping the educational experiences of our students through innovative teaching and a strong commitment to their success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, internalize, and deliver engaging lesson plans that challenge and inspire students, utilizing our provided curriculum resources to address the diverse learning needs of all students.
  • Analyze student performance data both individually and collaboratively with grade-level teams to inform re-teaching strategies and subsequent lessons.
  • Create personalized learning plans for students and effectively communicate these plans during parent conferences and meetings.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to foster a culture of critical thinking and academic excellence.

Classroom Environment & Student Support

  • Establish a classroom culture that empowers students, celebrates their identities, and fosters a sense of belonging for all.
  • Implement and uphold school-wide and classroom management policies and practices.
  • Create an inclusive and responsive environment for families and community stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain trusting relationships with students and their families.

Team Collaboration

  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and team collaborations.
  • Engage in daily school activities, including morning and lunch supervision duties.
  • Embrace feedback in a spirit of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Fulfill professional responsibilities including timely completion of assignments and adherence to deadlines.
