Kuok Singapore Limited is hiring a Technical Superintendent to oversee the technical operations of Offshore Supply Vessels. This remote position centers on maintaining vessel readiness, ensuring high operational standards, and meeting compliance requirements set by management agreements.
Key responsibilities
- Direct daily maintenance and repair activities for assigned vessels, ensuring timely and effective completion.
- Manage budgets for maintenance, repairs, dry-docking, and class special surveys, submitting proposals to senior management for approval in advance.
- Plan and supervise vessel surveys, onboard assessments, inspections, and dry-docking operations.
- Coordinate with vendors, operations, and marketing teams to ensure technical and operational readiness, including performance assessments.
- Evaluate dry-docking needs, review repair quotes, and select shipyards for maintenance and survey work.
- Define repair specifications and participate in dry-docking, repairs, and surveys as required.
- Prepare post-drydocking reports summarizing completed work, operational budgets, and actual costs.
- Procure technical and operational supplies, balancing cost-effectiveness and quality.
- Monitor vessel technical status to maintain class certification and survey compliance.
- Ensure planned maintenance schedules are followed and activities are completed efficiently.
- Maintain up-to-date records for statutory, class, and equipment certificates.
- Provide technical support to vessel operations as needed.
- Review monthly logs and participate in vessel inspections.
- Supervise contractors involved in repair and maintenance work.
- Implement cost control strategies for ship spare parts and docking requirements.
- Conduct regular technical compliance audits and investigate defects or failures to maintain standards.
- Work with the HSE Management team to implement QHSE systems and policies across the division.
- Review codes, guidelines, and standards to ensure compliance with Quality and Safety Management protocols.
- Promote a zero loss time accident record by reporting incidents and near misses to reduce future risks.
- Report to the Technical Fleet Management Department, with a matrix reporting line to the Business Unit Manager.
- Take on additional technical assignments as required.
