Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in risk management, law, claims, or a related technical field is preferred.5-7 years of claims experience with an attorney, insurance carrier, TPA, or self-insured employer. This position is located onsite in the Central Valley. Preferred certifications include AIC, ARM, CPCU, or equivalent. Proficient in Insurer Claims systems and Risk Management Information Systems (RMIS). Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Gmail, and Google Suite. Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities. Empathetic demeanor with a focus on customer service. Proven ability to build and collaborate within cross-functional teams. Strong analytical, influential, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Results-oriented and self-motivated.

Salary Range: $93,825 - $117,275 per year

Position Overview:

The Workers’ Compensation Program Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the management of Foster Farms’ workers’ compensation program. This includes direct collaboration with our third-party administrator (TPA) and other essential stakeholders to ensure that claims are resolved promptly, accurately, and justly. This position fosters a culture of care and compliance, developing strategies to mitigate risks, control costs, and facilitate successful recovery for injured employees. The Program Manager is also responsible for identifying injury trends, recommending preventive actions, and ensuring that claims handling practices are consistent with company policies and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise TPA and insurance partners to ensure adherence to compliance and effective management of claims.
  • Work closely with legal counsel on complex and litigated claims, including mediations and settlements.
  • Collaborate with HR, Operations, and Safety teams to support return-to-work initiatives, injury prevention, and incident investigations.
  • Lead quarterly claim reviews to evaluate performance and promote continuous improvement.
  • Ensure TPA compliance with contractual obligations and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and monitor key performance metrics to enhance outcomes, decrease costs, and improve program efficiency.
  • Act as an advocate for injured employees, promoting fairness and accountability in claims management.
  • Provide training and support to field leaders on incident management and best practices.
  • Keep current with changes in workers’ compensation legislation and state regulations to maintain compliance.
  • Manage reserving practices, ensuring timely and precise updates.
  • Review and authorize adjuster settlement requests and reserve adjustments within established parameters.
  • Collaborate with internal leadership and external partners to manage claims effectively.
