Understanding of security baseline changes and compliance after upgrades.

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Windows Server Upgrade Analyst to lead critical in-place upgrades from Windows Server 2016 to 2019 and/or 2022. This role demands a proactive approach to assessing and overcoming upgrade challenges while ensuring a smooth transition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute in-place upgrades from Windows Server 2016 to 2019 and/or 2022.
- Analyze Windows Server upgrade paths, edition compatibility, and licensing concerns.
- Identify and resolve pre-upgrade obstacles, including deprecated roles and applications.
- Investigate and troubleshoot setupact.log and setuperr.log issues.
- Confirm compatibility of . NET, PowerShell, and roles across different Windows Server versions.
- Validate system health post-upgrade, including services, roles, performance, and event logs.
- Manage VMware vSphere and virtual machine operations, including snapshots, disk space checks, and VMware Tools updates.
- Conduct Windows Upgrade Readiness checks and ensure application support for target OS.
- Establish backup validity and recovery options.
- Consider security and compliance risks, including TLS and antivirus compatibility.
