Become part of our vibrant and multidisciplinary Water Team as a Wastewater Modeller. You can operate from any of our offices across the UK or Ireland while benefiting from our flexible hybrid working model.
In this pivotal role, you will contribute to delivering transformative water projects both in the UK and globally. We facilitate the advancement of crucial flood mitigation initiatives, pollution control, and infrastructure developments—offering diverse experiences that are integral to your ongoing professional development. A distinctive feature of our practice is our fully integrated modelling team, collaborating with broader project teams to craft comprehensive solutions.
As a recognized leader in Blue-Green infrastructure and nature-based solutions, we partner with public and private sector clients including Severn Trent, Anglian Water, Northern Ireland Water, the Environment Agency, LLFAs, and other infrastructure providers. We execute Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Strategies, Outline Business Cases, hydraulic modelling, and intricate designs. We set industry benchmarks by providing guidance that establishes best practices, ensuring AECOM remains at the forefront of the water industry. This role presents an extraordinary opportunity to support a talented, diverse team dedicated to innovation, collaboration, and efficiency.
Your responsibilities:
- Develop, calibrate, and validate wastewater network models utilizing industry-standard software (e.g., InfoWorks ICM).
- Execute technical and administrative tasks of limited to moderate complexity related to hydrology and groundwater investigations that inform wastewater modelling studies.
- Assist with assignments that may extend into the broader hydrology field and related technical disciplines, working within defined project scopes with regular professional oversight.
- Analyze modelling outputs and environmental data, preparing detailed technical reports and supporting documentation.
- Monitor and interpret data to assess the impacts of upstream activities on wastewater systems, ensuring compliance with relevant permits and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, planners, and environmental specialists to deliver integrated solutions.
- Contribute to the continuous enhancement of modelling processes and technical standards.
