PRINCIPAL OBJECTIVE:
Ensure the technical integrity of all data (WANs, LANs, MANs, and low-speed data) and voice networks (including PBX systems, voicemail, conference bridges, and various radio networks such as PTP, MAS, VHF, and UHF). This role demands a high level of technical expertise across various infrastructure components. Responsibilities include the installation, scheduled maintenance, and troubleshooting of all telecommunications equipment and networks within a designated geographic area. The position serves as the lead for various initiatives and acts as a direct point of contact for clients within the IT process.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Installation, maintenance, and repair of network infrastructure, including but not limited to:
• Local Area Network (LAN) equipment
• Wide Area Network (WAN) equipment and circuits
• Telephone systems including PBX, hybrid key systems, and non-KSU systems
• Voice processing and computerized telephone technology
• Microwave radio equipment
• VHF/UHF radio equipment, mobile cellular phones, and paging infrastructure
• Video teleconferencing equipment
• Fiber optic cable systems
• UPS systems and AC/DC systems
• Additional electronic equipment as needed
• Administering PBX and voicemail systems
• Collaborating closely with telecom providers and company personnel for circuit installation and repairs
• Assisting with telecommunications capital projects coordination
• Ensuring compliance of microwave and radio systems with FCC guidelines
• Providing first-level PC support to clients
• Delivering electronic technical support for engineering and other departments
• Aiding in the operation and repair of SCADA and electronic measurement systems
• Collaborating with central network personnel to configure routers, hubs, and channel banks
• Constructing infrastructure cabling systems using both fiber and metallic mediums.
