We are currently seeking a talented Virtual Construction Modeler II for our Sacramento, CA office.
The VC Modeler II position represents the initial journey-level role within our Modeler series, forming an integral part of the Virtual Construction Department at Royal Electric. Our VC team collaborates closely with project management and field leadership throughout the construction process. By utilizing advanced modeling technologies, we enhance project quality, control costs, and adhere to schedules by coordinating with trade partners, minimizing field conflicts, and ensuring precise installations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in frequent and effective collaboration with field operations, ensuring that models and drawings accurately represent the planned construction, while identifying opportunities for prefabrication and coordinating to resolve design flaws.
- Work alongside the VC Manager to understand project modeling and fabrication requirements.
- Coordinate with field operations to establish key deliverable dates and assign tasks to junior team members, ensuring project milestones are achieved.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and trade partners, facilitating successful BIM Coordination meetings, resolving conflicts, and minimizing schedule disruptions.
- Address conflicts within models and update client's file shares or cloud hubs with revisions.
- Review the 2D and 3D work of junior modelers for accuracy and completeness, providing real-time constructive feedback.
- Set up models and perform periodic maintenance, effectively managing views, sheets, and model data.
- Continuously develop your technical expertise to promote project success, including understanding electrical codes, construction practices, and prefabrication methodologies.
- Mentorship of junior modelers, sharing knowledge on technical topics, file management, relationship management, and drawing modifications.
- Occasionally visit job sites to gather insights and assess the impact of modeling on project execution.
