Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. A minimum of 5 years of experience in the design, operation, or maintenance of rotating equipment within the power generation, petroleum, chemical, or similar industries. Comprehensive understanding of engineering principles, with a strong intuition for systems engineering and operations. Preferred Qualifications:Experience in the development and testing of first-of-a-kind turbomachinery. Background in developing operational plans for rotating equipment in a plant-like environment. Familiarity with operating and/or creating design specifications for industrial steam turbines.

Position Overview

As a Turbomachinery Engineer at Oklo, you'll leverage your expertise in rotating equipment to oversee the design, procurement, and operation of critical systems within our power plants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish requirements and specifications for both commercially available and custom rotating equipment, including pumps, compressors, and turbines.
  • Identify essential performance metrics and create verification test plans for new equipment.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, encompassing process engineering, instrumentation and control, power generation and distribution, and operations to integrate equipment into power plants and testing facilities.
  • Engage with external vendors for equipment analysis, design, procurement, and testing to ensure adherence to plant specifications.
  • Draft and document operational and maintenance strategies for rotating equipment in the power plant.
  • Create technical documentation for inclusion in regulatory filings and internal reports.
  • Serve as the lead engineer for the development of a rotating equipment system.
