Must be willing and able to travel at least 75% of the time, residing near a major airport. Preferred locations include AIR's major markets: DC Metro, Miami Metro, Boston area, or Philadelphia area. A minimum of 5 years of experience in Multifamily Service Operations Management. At least 2 years in a direct Service Management role. Demonstrated success in managing large properties, acting as a motivator, effective communicator, and hands-on manager. Strong team-building, coaching, and training abilities, with experience in multiple site supervision and a solid customer service background. A strong focus on financial results and demonstrated capacity to enhance community value is essential.

About the job

The Traveling Service Operations Support Manager will be integral in providing operational coverage and support across our communities facing vacant Service and Maintenance Manager positions. This role is pivotal in addressing essential and time-sensitive challenges within these communities. As the subject matter expert, you will lead direct maintenance and service operations, oversee vendor management, and mentor staff.

This is a high-travel position, requiring up to 75% travel throughout the year, approximately three weeks each month.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the Service Manager as needed, delivering the standard operational support expected of AIR’s Service Managers.
  • Providing regional oversight of property maintenance management across multiple assigned communities, ensuring efficient handling of service requests, management, turnover processes, preventative maintenance, and staff training and supervision.
  • Supporting Regional Offices in their operational tasks for assigned properties.
  • Collaborating with Property Managers, Service Managers, Regional Property Managers, Area Service Managers, Directors of Service & Quality, and Directors of Operations to fulfill action plans resulting from audits.
