Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 3 years of experience as a Project Manager specifically on Transit projects. Preferred Qualifications:Familiarity with MBTA and CTDOT operations. Professional Engineer (PE) License. In-depth knowledge of FRA, DOT, AREMA, and local railroad/transit regulations. Exceptional communication skills. Advanced degree in Engineering. Experience in Rail Program Management. Knowledge of Alternative Delivery methods.

AECOM is looking for a highly skilled Transit Project Manager to become an integral part of our New England Transit Market Group. This position offers the opportunity to work from one of our regional offices across New England.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a diverse, multi-disciplinary team, ensuring effective collaboration and project success.

  • Lead and provide expert guidance on mid-to-large-scale transportation projects, including heavy and light rail, commuter rail, bus, and ferry services.

  • Draft project scopes and prepare accurate estimates for project budgets.

  • Deliver technical leadership and strategic direction to ensure successful project execution.

  • Offer technical expertise for studies and design phases, ensuring innovative solutions.

  • Implement innovative project and program approaches that distinguish AECOM in the marketplace.

  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports and analyses for stakeholders.

  • Drive project performance metrics and assume responsibility for portfolio outcomes.

  • Mentor junior staff while contributing to skill development and workforce planning initiatives within AECOM’s Transportation Business Line.

  • Collaborate with other Transit market sectors to enhance coordination and service delivery.

  • Maintain ongoing client interactions to ensure satisfaction with AECOM’s services.

  • Foster and strengthen relationships with both existing and prospective clients in the Transit industry, including MBTA, CTDOT, MassDOT Rail and Transit, and RIDOT.

  • Participate in identifying new business opportunities and developing technical proposals.

  • Manage project scope, budgets, and schedules effectively.
