The Thermal Engineer will play a key role in designing and optimizing thermal management systems for Mach’s vehicles. This position involves analyzing how heat transfer, thermal loads, and environmental factors affect vehicle performance and structural integrity. Collaboration with teams in propulsion, structural engineering, and aerodynamics is central to integrating thermal solutions that maintain both performance and manufacturability.
What you will do
- Design, analyze, and optimize thermal management systems at both system and component levels for vehicle platforms.
- Assess the impact of heat transfer and thermal loads on vehicle performance and structure through detailed analysis.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate effective thermal solutions into vehicle designs.
- Develop and carry out thermal testing procedures, including thermal cycling, environmental assessments, and failure mode analysis.
- Provide insights on how different thermal management systems influence overall vehicle performance.
- Create technical documentation, such as thermal analysis reports, design guidelines, and test reports.
Requirements
- Experience in thermal analysis for aerospace applications, including engines, avionics, or aircraft structures.
- Strong understanding of heat transfer principles and the effects of thermal loads on avionics and structures.
- Proficiency with thermal analysis and simulation tools like STAR-CCM+, Icepak, Simscape, or AMESim.
- Background in thermal testing, validation, and environmental testing methods.
- Knowledge of designing scalable thermal solutions suitable for mass production.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills for working across multiple engineering disciplines.
