What will your role as a Cook entail?
As a Cook at Terrestris, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all food items meet the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation. The ideal candidate should be adept at following cooking instructions and delivering delicious, well-prepared meals while strictly adhering to health and safety guidelines.
What does a typical day look like for our Cook?
You will be responsible for:
- Preparing and cooking menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Setting up and stocking cooking stations with necessary supplies.
- Ensuring food is prepared simultaneously, maintaining high quality, and served in a timely manner.
- Keeping the kitchen area clean and organized.
- Adhering to proper food handling and sanitation standards.
- Monitoring inventory levels and notifying the kitchen manager or chef of shortages.
- Assisting with the receipt and storage of food deliveries.
- Collaborating with the kitchen team to enhance food quality and service.
- Complying with all food safety and hygiene regulations.
What qualifications are we looking for?
You could be the culinary talent we seek if you possess:
- Authorization to work permanently in the U. S. without sponsorship.
- A high school diploma or equivalent; culinary training or school is a plus.
- Proven experience as a cook in a commercial kitchen or military setting.
- Familiarity with various cooking techniques (grilling, baking, boiling, etc.).
- A capability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- A strong attention to detail, particularly regarding food presentation and safety.
- Certification in food safety.
Additional physical requirements include:
- The ability to stand for extended periods and work in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment.
