Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent, along with a Professional Engineering (P. Eng.) designation or eligibility for registration with EGBC.4 to 6 years of experience in the design and implementation of wired and wireless telecom networks within an EPC/EPCM firm or as a client/owner. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational abilities and excellent interpersonal skills. Experience designing networks at OSI layers 1 to 4 for operationally critical applications. Familiarity with a range of telecom systems and accessories, including:Optical transport systems (DWDM, MPLS-TP, SONET/SDH),Wireless transport systems (Microwave, Satellite),LAN Switching / VLAN,IP/MPLS - QoS and Traffic engineering architectural design,Firewalling,Telecom Power Systems.

As a Telecommunications Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering innovative telecom system designs and network architectures tailored to meet the critical operational needs of our esteemed clients. Our telecommunications team collaborates with a diverse range of industrial and public sector clients, including those in energy, transportation, and various telecommunications carriers, working on an array of wired and wireless networking applications. If you thrive in a diverse work environment, this hybrid role offers flexibility and can be based out of our offices in Vancouver, Kelowna, Calgary, or Edmonton.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce telecom system designs and engineering documents for projects.
  • Create schematics and design diagrams.
  • Draft project scopes, proposals, estimates, and budgets.
  • Prepare and review engineering documents, specifications, and inspection/testing procedures.
  • Develop bills of materials and assist in procurement processes.
  • Coordinate, stage, and plan installation and commissioning activities with clients and contractors.
  • Travel to project sites and collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Respond to site information requests and complete project documentation including record drawings and calculations.
