About the Role:
As a Technical Sourcer at Magic, you will play a pivotal role in assembling the team that is building AGI. You will collaborate closely with our recruiting team, technical leaders, and researchers to identify, engage, and attract top-tier technical talent in AI research and engineering. You will oversee the recruitment funnel, implement creative sourcing strategies, and help us cultivate a world-class talent network.
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage a strong pipeline of exceptional technical talent across research, engineering, and infrastructure roles.
- Collaborate with hiring managers and recruiters to thoroughly understand role requirements and ideal candidate profiles.
- Create and implement innovative sourcing strategies for both high-volume and challenging-to-fill positions.
- Utilize diverse sourcing channels (LinkedIn, GitHub, publications, conferences, communities, etc.) to find outstanding candidates.
- Engage candidates with a background in AI, deep learning, and large language models.
- Craft outreach messages that authentically reflect Magic’s mission and the technical challenges we face.
- Monitor sourcing metrics and continually refine processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Strong technical understanding: either previous experience in a technical role or the ability to accurately assess technical talent. Many team members have engineering backgrounds and we code solutions as necessary.
- Ability to switch contexts effortlessly: one week you may need to achieve 4,000 unique outreach efforts; the next, you may need to analyze esoteric research papers from PhD candidates. You should be adept at managing both tasks.
- Proven sourcing expertise, with a track record of identifying and engaging technical candidates at scale.
- Familiarity with AI, machine learning, and ideally large language models; we actively review the latest research and participate in leading AI conferences on behalf of Magic.
- Exemplary communication skills, both written and verbal.
