Who We're Looking For:Bachelor's degree in Geophysics, Geoscience, Physics, or a closely related field. A minimum of 7+ years of extensive experience in geophysical operations, including seismic acquisition and QC in both onshore and offshore environments. Experience in marine seismic operations is highly desirable. Proven leadership skills with a focus on team development and performance enhancement. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster collaborative working relationships. In-depth knowledge of geophysical data processing and analysis techniques.

Your Role as Technical Manager - Geophysics

We are looking for an exceptional leader to spearhead our geophysical support initiatives across Sales, Marketing, and Operations. This pivotal role will be based in our Dubai office and will require frequent travel to regional offices to ensure our onshore and offshore geophysics teams consistently provide top-tier solutions that enhance value for our clients and the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the onshore Geophysical Support team while providing functional guidance to offshore geophysical QC teams.
  • Collaborate with the Line Manager to develop and uphold geophysical standards across all company operations.
  • Facilitate clear communication regarding project requirements and seismic deliverables to offshore teams, ensuring alignment with client expectations.
  • Enhance geophysical project quality by advising offshore QC geophysicists on sequence optimization, parameter selection, and project-specific test and QC plans.
  • Champion the standardization and continuous improvement of offshore QC processes.
  • Stay abreast of state-of-the-art geophysical acquisition techniques and emerging processing technologies.
  • Analyze competitor technologies and methodologies, providing insightful evaluations to the Head of Geophysics.
  • Offer geophysical expertise to Node Development and Engineering teams, assisting in the validation of new technologies through studies and testing.
  • Act as a technical expert in client meetings, fostering strong client relationships and showcasing the company’s technical excellence.
  • Contribute to tender evaluations, RFIs/RFQs, and survey design in partnership with Sales & Marketing.
  • Promote technology through participation in industry conferences, publications, and marketing initiatives.
  • Manage key geophysical service suppliers effectively.
  • Ensure high-quality service delivery in accordance with the Company Management System and EHSQ standards.
  • Develop team competencies through goal setting, performance management, training, and knowledge sharing.
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for Operations on geophysical matters, providing solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Prepare, monitor, and optimize departmental geophysical CAPEX and OPEX budgets.
