Your Role as Technical Lead - Geophysics
We are on the lookout for a seasoned Geophysicist to provide essential technical geophysical support across our dynamic Sales & Marketing, Operations, and Engineering Development teams. This pivotal role involves supporting both Ocean Bottom Node (OBN) and Multi-Tow Streamer (MTS) operations, ensuring unparalleled data quality throughout the project lifecycle.
You will be responsible for maintaining data quality from the initial tender receipt to the final survey product delivery to our clients. Collaboration with various internal departments will be crucial to ensure surveys meet technical, commercial, and client specifications. Key responsibilities include:
Sales Support
- Design alternative or additional survey layouts to efficiently achieve clients’ geophysical goals.
- Evaluate incoming data acquisition tenders and craft detailed technical responses, including exceptions, survey area maps, shooting plan scenarios, and source modeling.
- Conduct project time and motion estimations when necessary.
Marketing Support
- Enhance the company's technical reputation through publications at industry conferences and journals.
- Contribute to the development of company-wide Geophysical Initiatives.
- Participate in client meetings, leveraging your expertise to foster client relationships and promote our image of excellence.
- Compile and present technical slides on geophysical initiatives.
Operations Support
- Create project start-up documentation, including preplots, shooting plans, operational maps, and parameter sheets tailored to the seismic method.
- Represent the Geophysical Services and Technology group in project kick-off, start-up, and close-out meetings as needed.
- Review end-of-job reports for accuracy and quality.
- Analyze problem datasets with appropriate reporting.
- Assist in developing procedures and technical content that promote effective survey practices and safe operations within the Geophysical Department, contributing to ongoing improvements.
- Advocate for and implement best practices, new technologies, and methodologies in Quality Control processing offshore and geophysical support onshore.
