Who We're Seeking:
We are on the lookout for proficient and passionate Technical Designers who are driven to produce exceptional work.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- A wealth of experience in rapidly creating and interpreting high-quality fabrication drawings.
- In-depth expertise in CNC processes and the ability to generate corresponding drawings.
- A keen interest across various design disciplines, complemented by hands-on experience and knowledge in multiple design practices.
- A comprehensive understanding of fabrication, material properties, and assembly methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
You will play a crucial role in supporting a dedicated team within our production department, overseeing the daily fabrication of projects in our workshop. The nature of the work is dynamic and engaging, allowing exploration of a wide array of materials and finishes.
- Reporting to the Lead Technical Designer, your role will involve collaborating with our Production and Design teams to bring our designs to fruition.
- Providing technical and construction guidance across various projects, addressing challenges as they arise.
- Facilitating communication between creative design and fabrication.
- Generating technical drawings and CAD/CAM files for relevant processes.
- Troubleshooting technical issues, specifying materials, fasteners, and manufacturing methods.
- Ensuring the delivery of comprehensive technical drawings to both our in-house construction team and external contractors.
- Working closely with Project and Production Managers on project budgets and estimates to uphold both technical and creative integrity.
- Overseeing quality control on production tasks.
- Engaging with suppliers and Project Managers to ensure smooth communication and project tracking where necessary.
- Presenting technical designs to the broader team with confidence.
Work Location: This position is based full-time at our East London studio. Our standard working hours are 9 AM to 6 PM, but we offer flexible working arrangements, including an unofficial early finish at 5 PM on Fridays.
