Qualifications

You will:Utilize your expertise in perception systems to propose requirements aligned with Waymo’s safety and business objectives using statistical and risk-based methods. Lead the qualification process for perception software systems crucial to our driverless technology releases. Facilitate consensus on requirements among software and hardware teams. Develop reusable, high-quality analytical and evaluation tools leveraging simulation and fleet data. Employ these tools for designing, debugging, and executing tests. Present your analysis and recommendations through technical reports and presentations to peers and leadership. You have:An advanced degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or 4 years of relevant practical experience in perception or robotic systems. Proficiency in software engineering for simulation and data evaluation, using Python or other high-level languages (e.g., SQL, R, C++). A knack for managing multiple projects simultaneously and thriving in challenging, ambiguous situations. Experience coordinating projects with diverse contributors and stakeholders. Excellent technical communication and writing skills.

This position follows a hybrid work model and reports to a Staff Systems Engineer.
