About the job
ABOUT ROCKET LAB
Rocket Lab is a pioneering end-to-end space solutions provider dedicated to making space accessible. We offer responsive launch services, comprehensive spacecraft design and manufacturing, payloads, satellite components, and much more. Our mission is to unlock space for all, enabling extraordinary space missions that advance scientific exploration, Earth observation, climate change initiatives, national security, and cutting-edge technology demonstrations.
Our Electron rocket has emerged as one of the most frequently launched rockets in the United States, successfully delivering over 230 satellites into orbit. We are also developing Neutron, our next-generation medium-lift, reusable launch vehicle designed for larger constellation deployments. Our Space Systems division is responsible for the design and construction of a diverse array of satellites and payloads, including components that support NASA missions to the Moon and Mars, as well as instruments used on the James Webb Space Telescope.
SPACE SYSTEMS
At Rocket Lab, we are not merely launching rockets; we are crafting the future of space exploration. Our Space Systems team is involved in creating everything from complete spacecraft and precision payloads to vital components that ensure their success in space, including solar panels, flight software, star trackers, optical systems, and communication radios.
With over 1,700 missions under our belt, our Space Systems team supports initiatives ranging from interplanetary exploration and in-space manufacturing to national security operations. We partner with esteemed organizations like NASA, the Space Development Agency, and the U. S. Space Force to construct advanced spacecraft and payloads for missions to the Moon and Mars. Whether it's developing a single high-performance spacecraft or an entire constellation, our world-class team is propelling some of the most daring and ambitious space missions.
SYSTEMS ENGINEER II - SECRET CLEARANCE
The Optical Systems division at Rocket Lab tackles mission-critical challenges in the space domain and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) for Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) clients. Our vision is to transform the landscape of space-based payload operations.
