Your Responsibilities:Lead collaborative efforts to conduct safety analyses, identify potential hazards and their causes, assess safety risks both qualitatively and quantitatively, define safety requirements, inform design decisions, propose mitigation strategies, and support verification processes. Engage in software and product design reviews to ensure that safety requirements and mitigations are effectively addressed and operational in the field. Advise on the adoption and adaptation of relevant safety standards and best practices, ensuring compliance with applicable safety regulations for Waymo and its partners. Evaluate the effectiveness of implemented risk control strategies and assist in identifying new hazards. Lead initiatives to define, implement, and improve System Safety processes while fostering a culture of safety within Waymo. Integrate the System Safety Methodology with other safety frameworks utilized at Waymo.

We also play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations.

In this remote position, you will report directly to a System Safety Engineer.
