Role overview
The System Integration and Test Engineer plays a key role at the intersection of flight software and hardware subsystems. This role involves hands-on integration and testing, working across benches, labs, and real aircraft. Work covers the entire testing lifecycle, from activating and verifying equipment in the lab to installing systems and conducting acceptance tests in aircraft environments.
Key responsibilities
- Integrate flight software with hardware subsystems in benches, labs, and aircraft settings
- Activate and verify equipment functionality in laboratory environments
- Install systems and conduct acceptance testing in aircraft
- Create detailed verification plans and generate reports to support safety-of-flight reviews
- Support independent government airworthiness processes through documentation and testing
- Design and maintain software-in-the-loop (SIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) CI/CD tests to monitor quality and identify bugs or regressions
