RequirementsEducation & Experience: 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred. Proficient in GPS, Robotic Total Stations, and data collection and drafting technologies. Familiarity with Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Carlson, and OpenRoads software is advantageous. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong teamwork abilities. Valid Driver's License. Physical Requirements:Capability to operate a passenger vehicle. Willingness to wear personal protective equipment throughout the workday. Ability to work in varying environmental conditions (cold or hot). Capability to carry 30 to 60 pounds of equipment multiple times daily, with occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds. Safe navigation over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.

Position Overview

We are currently on the lookout for qualified candidates to fill the role of Survey Technician in our Buffalo and Rochester, NY offices. In this role, you will engage in various survey tasks, including topographic and boundary surveying, construction staking, and structure monitoring, all while supporting civil engineering, architectural, and environmental projects under the guidance of Licensed Professional Surveyors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the survey crew chief in executing field assignments.
  • Adhere to established safety protocols for Land Surveying.
  • Utilize advanced surveying technology such as GPS, Robotic Total Stations, digital and differential levels, UAVs, high-definition scanners, and data collection devices.
  • Perform tasks such as clearing brush, driving stakes, taking detailed notes, and creating sketches.
  • Process data and prepare maps and other outputs using Trimble Business Center, Civil 3D, Carlson, and additional software.
