Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:A Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Geography, Geospatial Information Sciences, or a related field, or at least three years of progressive survey field experienceExperience with GPS and 3D laser scanning is advantageousStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret various documents such as safety rules, project budgets, and jurisdictional platting requirementsCompetence in understanding deed descriptions, title reports, zoning reports, survey plats, DOT plans, engineering drawings, and aerial topographic mappingCapacity to follow instructions effectivelySolid understanding of mathematical concepts like trigonometry and geometry

Timmons Group is continuously on the lookout for talented and experienced Survey Technicians and Senior Survey Technicians to join our team for anticipated future opportunities. As a Survey Technician, you will play a crucial role in applying the principles, methods, and techniques of land surveying through various responsibilities outlined below.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafting subdivision plats, boundary surveys, and easement plats
  • Preparing parcel descriptions
  • Creating staking maps for subdivisions, infrastructure improvements, and site plans
  • Compiling cutsheets and construction take-offs
  • Drafting topographical surveys and generating digital terrain models
  • Conducting limited courthouse research
  • Submitting plats for jurisdictional approval
  • Collaborating closely with project managers and group leaders
  • Providing field support as needed
  • Carrying out other assigned duties
