Educational/Experience Requirements:Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program or an equivalent qualification. A minimum of 125 surgical procedures must have been completed in the capacity of first scrub. Required License/Certifications:Current American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS certification.

The Surgical Technologist - Regional Supplemental Staffing I at Luminis Health supports direct patient care and serves as a key team member across multiple surgical specialties. This position covers both Annapolis, MD and Lanham, MD locations. The technologist applies core patient care practices, maintains sterile technique, and helps prepare surgical cases efficiently.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Maintain a safe surgical environment by following sterility protocols and using equipment according to operating room guidelines.
  2. Transport patients and specialized equipment safely, following all safety policies.
  3. Provide patient care during the intra-operative phase by using physician preference cards and organizing care activities to adapt to patient and environmental needs.
  4. Serve as the first scrub on a range of surgical cases, including general/GYN, ENT, plastics, basic or minor ortho/neuro, dental/ortho, urology/cysto, and basic vascular procedures. Ensure proper cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments.
  5. Independently handle essential surgical tasks such as opening surgical supplies, gowning and gloving team members, basic patient positioning, between-case cleaning, terminal cleaning of the operating room, and assisting with circulating duties as needed.
