Your Responsibilities:
- Instructional Support: Collaborate with instructors to implement our innovative curriculum, guiding advanced students through challenging concepts.
- Individualized Student Support: Provide personalized assistance during class activities, ensuring students receive the help they need to excel.
- Classroom Management: Assist in maintaining a structured and organized learning environment for a group of up to 16 students.
- Feedback and Grading: Help assess student assignments, offering constructive feedback to promote academic growth.
- Relationship Building: Engage with students and fellow staff to create a supportive learning community.
- Encourage Learning: Contribute to an environment that stimulates critical thinking and curiosity.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Minimum age of 16 years.
- Strong proficiency in language arts, with the ability to assist students in mastering advanced topics.
- Prior experience or genuine interest in working with younger students is highly desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A positive and encouraging demeanor that fosters an open atmosphere for student inquiries.
- Detail-oriented and well-organized.
- Familiarity with the AoPS curriculum is a plus, but not mandatory.
Note:
- No prior teaching experience or educational coursework is required for this position.
Schedule (Summer):
- We host multiple two-week camps from June to August.
- Classes run Monday to Friday for 3 hours each day, with both morning and afternoon sessions available.
Location:
- This position is in-person at our AoPS San Diego campus.
- Candidates must reside in San Diego, CA, or the surrounding area and be able to commute to our location.
