Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in building infrastructure that links AI agents to public biomedical databases (e.g., Open Targets, UniProt, DepMap, PubChem, GWAS Catalog) to facilitate intelligent tool selection and utilization. Design and prototype agentic workflows that integrate data retrieval, analysis, and reasoning across various sources to solve real drug discovery challenges. Investigate approaches for tool discovery, workflow composition, and validation to enhance platform utility over time. Document architectural decisions and methodologies; present findings to the research team. What You’ll BringCurrently enrolled in a graduate program in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related field. Proficiency in Python programming. Familiarity with LLMs and a keen interest in agentic AI patterns (tool-use, function calling, multi-step reasoning). Experience with APIs (REST or GraphQL) and building structured data pipelines. Basic biological context to understand the scientific foundations of drug target identification and translational biology. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Preferred ExperienceFamiliarity with scientific tool orchestration frameworks or custom agentic pipelines.
