Role Overview: Strategic Project Lead

Based onsite in New York City, the Strategic Project Lead will manage research and delivery across a range of client initiatives. Projects span post-training dataset creation, benchmarking programs, and ongoing partnerships with AI labs, creative tool companies, and research teams. Each project brings its own requirements and timelines.

This role involves defining research methodologies, designing evaluation protocols, assembling expert evaluators, maintaining quality standards, and delivering actionable results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design research studies, including annotation protocols and evaluation methods for creative and multimodal outputs.
  • Conduct both qualitative and quantitative analyses, turning findings into insights and strategic recommendations for clients.
  • Collaborate with creative experts, manage evaluator teams, and maintain quality through real-time adjustments.
  • Establish and standardize protocols for annotation, data quality, and inter-rater reliability across projects.
  • Communicate research findings clearly to stakeholders through reports, presentations, and interactive workshops.
  • Work with engineering teams to address tooling needs and help shape Contra Labs' reputation through case studies and benchmark publications.
  • Translate client goals into structured research plans, managing several projects at once with different timelines and requirements.
