Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct trade studies and derive requirements to establish vehicle configurations.
- Perform hand calculations and Finite Element Method (FEM) analysis for primary and secondary aerospace structures.
- Develop and implement company standards for model creation, strength checks, and analysis report generation.
- Compile and document stress analyses to support the release of engineering drawings and related documents.
- Mentor designers and junior structural analysts in best practices for stress, stability, and fracture analysis.
- Provide technical guidance on design concepts balancing risk, cost, and performance.
- Execute stress analysis using Finite Element Methods for static, dynamic, fatigue, and/or damage tolerance to support design, fabrication, testing, and structural integrity activities.
- Assist in test execution and analyze results to ensure designs meet specified requirements.
- Draft detailed structural substantiation reports and other technical documentation necessary for FAA airworthiness approvals.
