About the job
About Us:
At Lunar, we are pioneering a transformative software platform tailored specifically for health systems. Our mission is to redefine healthcare through innovative, AI-driven solutions that empower hospitals to provide exceptional care to their patients. Our platform serves as the foundational backbone for modern health systems, effectively revolutionizing clinical and operational workflows with the world’s first AI-native hospital information system.
This advanced platform marks a complete overhaul of the information infrastructure that underpins health systems. From doctors and nurses to pharmacists, lab technicians, coders, billers, supply chain professionals, and even patients, Lunar’s software seamlessly integrates all aspects of healthcare operations. We view this endeavor as the moon landing for healthcare—an audacious and impactful mission that many deem impossible.
Supported by top-tier venture capital firms from Silicon Valley, we believe in the strength of a small, high-performance team of experienced professionals who operate at their fullest potential. We value individuals who are driven, inquisitive, possess strong judgment, and are committed to producing their best work.
Our technology is built on Elixir, chosen for its robust fault tolerance, concurrency, and scalability—crucial for managing real-time patient data in critical environments such as Emergency Departments, ICUs, and Operating Rooms.
We are in search of a Staff Product Engineer ready to tackle some of the most complex technical challenges in healthcare, joining a small, dynamic, and mission-focused team. If you are passionate about crafting clean, resilient code and eager to rebuild the software infrastructure of contemporary hospitals from the ground up, we would love to connect with you.
In your first six months, you may encounter these significant technical challenges:
Developing a Modern Cloud Architecture: We have the unique opportunity to design a cloud-native platform from the ground up, leveraging Elixir without the constraints of legacy systems.
Creating an Enhanced Access Control System for Clinical Data: Your task will include developing a sophisticated access control system with detailed permissions that honors the structure of clinical data and patient ownership, enabling population-level insights for improved public health.
Ensuring 24/7 Operational Uptime for Hospitals: You will design and implement infrastructure capable of managing rolling deployments and failover solutions to maintain seamless hospital operations.
