About the job
A new era in space exploration has begun. True Anomaly is on the lookout for talented and ambitious individuals who can develop cutting-edge technology to tackle the next wave of engineering, manufacturing, and operational challenges in space security and sustainability.
OUR MISSION
The peaceful utilization of space is crucial for ongoing prosperity on Earth, impacting areas from communications and finance to navigation and logistics. At True Anomaly, we create innovative technology that integrates spacecraft, software, and AI to enhance the capabilities of the U. S., its allies, and commercial partners. Our commitment is to protect global security by ensuring space access and sustainability for everyone.
OUR VALUES
- Be the offset. We create asymmetric advantages through creativity and ingenuity.
- What would it take? We challenge assumptions to achieve ambitious results.
- It’s the people. Our team is our competitive edge, and collaboration makes us stronger.
YOUR MISSION
Software is the backbone of True Anomaly's engineering and product philosophy. It connects military objectives, theoretical astrodynamics, and the control of spacecraft and ground systems in both time and space. We are in search of an exceptional Staff Elixir Software Engineer to spearhead the technical direction and advancement of our distributed spacecraft ground control system.
This role is high-impact and strategic, where you'll define and drive the technical roadmap for our backend systems, lead cross-functional initiatives across engineering, product, and operations, and lay the architectural groundwork that will scale our distributed ground control platform for years to come. You will identify and promote strategic technical investments, advocate for them throughout the organization, and oversee their implementation. Your role extends beyond merely constructing features; you will influence product direction, impact company objectives, and mentor a team of engineers who will develop the next generation of our platform. When you encounter systemic issues affecting reliability, velocity, or quality, you will analyze root causes, build consensus around solutions, and instigate organizational change to resolve them.
No prior experience in building space ground systems or aerospace is required. You will lead high-priority, greenfield projects that bear significant importance for the company and have the potential to fundamentally influence future conflicts and the company's trajectory.
