About the job

Who We Are

Nuro is a pioneering self-driving technology firm dedicated to making autonomy accessible to everyone. Established in 2016, Nuro is developing the world's most scalable autonomous driver, which integrates state-of-the-art artificial intelligence with automotive-grade hardware. By licensing our core technology, the Nuro Driver™, we support diverse applications ranging from robotaxis and commercial fleets to personal vehicles. With technology validated through extensive self-driving deployments, Nuro provides automakers and mobility platforms with a clear pathway to commercial-scale autonomous vehicles, fostering a safer, more connected future.

About the Role

Our software development team is expanding, and we seek talented engineers to play a crucial role in one of the following domains: Data Platform, Simulation, or Technical Infrastructure.

  • Data Platform: This platform functions as a comprehensive management system for the data, labels, and metrics of the Nuro AI Driver, ensuring seamless access and functionality. The team focuses on data annotation across various domains, including 2D/3D perception, mapping, behavior trajectory, and language/text. It also manages data ingestion and mining, employing techniques such as heuristics and embedding search, while supporting the autonomy evaluation infrastructure with detailed introspection.
  • Simulation: The Simulation team develops the simulator that enables us to innovate and test our autonomous driving technology within a virtual environment. We work on the core simulator and simulation frameworks, sensor simulation, scenario generation, and solutions that blend real-world data with synthetic methods to extend the limits of simulation, collaborating closely with teams across Autonomy and AI Platform for realistic and reliable simulations at scale.
  • Technical Infrastructure: This group manages several fundamental services for the entire engineering organization: a generic compute platform for hosting mission-critical workflows such as data processing and simulation, a storage management service overseeing hundreds of petabytes of data, and a cloud infrastructure serving as Infrastructure as Code (IaaC) to provision and maintain all cloud resources. Additionally, engineering productivity tools like build and CI/CD enhance efficiency.

About You

You possess extensive expertise and prior experience in some or many of the following areas:

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience coupled with a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
