Location and Work Flexibility
Our primary campus is in Sydney, complemented by another in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide. You have the flexibility to choose where and how you work - whether that’s in the office (if you're nearby), at home, or a combination of both.
Role Overview
As Canva continues to scale, adaptability is ingrained in our culture. The responsibilities you'll take on can evolve, but here’s a glimpse of what to expect:
- Create efficient, reusable frontend abstractions and systems to enhance Canva’s product experience.
- Collaborate with the subgroup lead and product engineering stakeholders to define and steer the team's technical roadmap.
- Propose and lead enhancements to frontend engineering practices, patterns, and methodologies.
- Mentor team members, promoting strong technical craftsmanship and sound decision-making.
- Work alongside cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure seamless integration of frontend libraries across our products.
Team Insight
The Frontend Core Libraries team is dedicated to empowering Canva's frontend developers by maintaining and enhancing essential libraries like React and MobX. Our mission is to maximize the potential of these powerful tools, which sometimes means diving deep into their internals to optimize performance and integrate new features. We strive to push the boundaries of frontend development, offering robust and efficient solutions that elevate user experience across the board.
In this role, you will have the chance to lead innovative projects such as:
- Implementing and delivering JavaScript-based RPC clients for our web pages.
- Establishing a robust data layer at Canva.
- Driving the experimentation and adoption of React Server Components throughout Canva’s web stack.
