Recognizing that data is our most critical asset, we are on the lookout for a Staff Data Engineer to advance our Data Governance initiatives, steering our business-centered data strategy. You will bridge the gap between our overarching mission and the technical execution, tasked with developing and implementing enterprise-wide data governance solutions.
In this senior role within our Data Governance Function, you will play a pivotal role in scaling our cross-functional governance programs that guide our data strategy. Collaborating with engineering, product, and business leaders, you will address our governance requirements, establish data guardrails, and guide the organization towards data self-service.
This role demands an experienced developer who excels in ambiguous environments, possesses extensive knowledge of data governance, quality, and management, and is proficient in driving data clarity. You should have a robust understanding of fostering effective collaboration, managing conflicting priorities, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment. Comfort with tracking and utilizing metrics to ensure data integrity and advocate for continuous process enhancement is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operationalize the data governance program by designing and developing tools for data discovery, metadata extraction, and data lineage tracking.
- Collaborate with Data Architects to create "governance-by-design" schemas.
- Develop integrations between our data lake and the governance catalog.
- Manage and maintain the technical features of the data catalog for defining data, documenting its metadata, and collecting lineage.
- Ensure data is fit for purpose by implementing quality controls and governance policies.
