Join our dynamic team as a SQL Database Administrator where you will be responsible for setting up and maintaining critical production database environments. This is an exciting opportunity for proactive individuals with a passion for database management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Expertise in Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows 2003 server environments.
- Collaborate with application DBAs and development teams providing expert guidance and support.
- Proficient in SQL Server versions 2000, 2005, and 2008.
- SQL programming, scripting, and support.
- Expert in establishing SQL Server high availability solutions including Clustering, Replication, Mirroring, and Log Shipping for 24/7 production environments.
- Provide insights into database server design and capacity planning for new projects.
- Evaluate and recommend third-party database management tools as necessary.
- Engage in proactive optimization of current environments and monitoring strategies.
- Experience with installation and configuration of clustering solutions, replication, log shipping, and mirroring.
- Strong knowledge of various clustering solutions including Microsoft and VERITAS.
- Handle database bug-fixing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Experience in database migrations, upgrades, and patching is a must.
- Familiarity with FOGLIGHT, LightSpeed, and TSM.
- Knowledge of disaster recovery processes.
- Ability to perform SOX audits and possess relevant experience.
- Quality and process-oriented mindset.
- Exposure to audit tools is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with incident/request and change management processes.
- 5 to 6 years of core DBA experience.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Must possess Clustering and High Availability (H/A) experience.
- Proven experience managing production systems and performance tuning of databases.
- Adept at handling team dynamics and understanding customer SLA and KPIs.
