Qualifications

• A minimum of 10 years in embedded systems development, with extensive experience in low-level Linux, bootloaders, and platform bring-up.• At least 3 years in a technical leadership, architectural, or system-level decision-making capacity.• Strong capability to reason across hardware-software boundaries, encompassing both digital and analog domains.• Advanced knowledge of C/C++, Linux kernel internals, firmware frameworks like BIOS/UEFI, and bootloaders such as U-Boot, along with board support package development.• Experience with networking platforms, including switch architectures and integration with ASIC or FPGA software stacks.• Practical knowledge in memory bring-up (e.g., DDR), high-speed interfaces like PCIe, and common peripheral buses such as I2C, SPI, MDIO, and GPIO.

In this position, you will:

  • Spearhead the design and execution of system startup sequences, overseeing the entire process from initial power-on to Linux userspace, collaborating across bootloader, ONIE, and SONiC components.
  • Lead hardware bring-up initiatives, validate board functionalities, and troubleshoot system-level hardware challenges.
  • Create and sustain platform-level Linux kernel drivers, device tree configurations, and integrations with FPGA-based features.
  • Develop and enhance telemetry and control paths utilizing ADC/DAC interfaces.
  • Design and uphold secure boot processes alongside reliable firmware update mechanisms in the field.
  • Establish and implement calibration, compensation, and continuous monitoring strategies for optimal system performance.
  • Collaborate closely with FPGA, hardware, and manufacturing teams to ensure integrated platform development.
  • Provide technical leadership, conduct code reviews, and offer mentorship.
  • Support the entire product lifecycle, including sustaining engineering and resolving field-reported issues.
