In the world of GPU clusters, securing contracts for leasing these clusters before they are even constructed is essential. This 'offtake' is critical for financing, ensuring that both lenders and developers can mitigate their inherent risks.
With narrow profit margins and significant volumes, financing GPU clusters can pose a considerable risk. Lenders are wary of cluster developers defaulting on loans, while developers are hesitant to take on the risk of unsold clusters. To navigate this, we offload risk onto customers through fixed-price long-term contracts.
If customer risk isn't carefully managed, a market bubble can form. Unlike SaaS models, where companies sign multi-year agreements yet charge monthly subscriptions, a misstep in purchasing can lead to severe consequences, potentially resulting in bankruptcy. Imagine a scenario where businesses could exit contracts by selling them back to the market.
As artificial intelligence continues to expand, access to computing power will only be available to those equipped to manage such risks. For instance, a small startup in a San Francisco Victorian may not feasibly engage in a 5-year contract for $100 million supercomputers, but they could purchase a month of liquidity from the market.

About the Role:
This hybrid position combines technical expertise with customer engagement. As the initial point of contact for our clients, you will possess in-depth knowledge of their specific requirements. Your role will involve triaging customer inquiries and collaborating closely with the engineering team to develop automated solutions. You will advocate for customer needs within our organization, creating a feedback loop that informs product development.
