Role Overview: Solar EPC Construction Manager
Location: London, England, United Kingdom (UK-based)
The Construction Manager will lead construction activities for multiple utility-scale solar PV projects across the UK. This role manages the construction department, ensuring safe, high-quality project execution. The Construction Manager works closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, and other teams to deliver projects on schedule, while seeking ways to cut costs and improve processes. This position reports to the Head of Projects.
Main Responsibilities
Leadership and Management
- Oversee construction for several utility-scale solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects in the UK.
- Ensure delivery meets project scope, schedule, and contractual requirements.
- Mentor and support Project and Site Managers.
- Set and maintain consistent standards across all sites and contractors.
Project Delivery
- Guide projects from mobilization through commissioning.
- Lead subcontractor and site meetings to track progress and performance.
- Monitor timelines, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate closely with engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Act as the main point of contact between construction, engineering, QA/QC, HSE, and procurement functions.
- Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders.
- Resolve technical and operational issues quickly.
