Position Overview

As a Solar Electrician within Fuse’s specialized Solar PV division, you will play a crucial role in the scaling of this dynamic business line. This hands-on position is ideal for seasoned solar professionals who possess robust technical skills, leadership in project execution, and a comprehensive understanding of the solar market.

Your responsibilities will encompass the full lifecycle of residential and commercial projects—from initial design proposals and grid applications to overseeing installations and commissioning—while actively contributing to the division's strategic growth.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Oversee Solar PV projects from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with timelines, budgets, and technical specifications.
  • Manage the operational lifecycle, including planning, execution, monitoring, and project closure.
  • Coordinate efforts among internal teams, subcontractors, local authorities, and Distribution Network Operators (DNOs).
  • Conduct financial modeling to assess project feasibility and potential scenarios.

Technical Design

  • Create optimized Solar PV systems for various installations, including rooftop, ground-mounted, and custom structures.
  • Generate technical designs, layouts, and system specifications while ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Utilize software tools such as OpenSolar or PVSyst for modeling and enhancing system yield and performance.

Grid Connections

  • Act as the liaison between relevant DNOs and clients to facilitate G98/G99 applications.
  • Manage the grid connection process from application submission through to approval and energization.

Business Strategy

  • Drive the development and expansion of the Solar PV division.
  • Identify commercial opportunities and evaluate strategic partnerships, including supplier and contractor negotiations.
  • Utilize industry relationships to build a strong project pipeline across the Solar PV supply chain.
