About Fizz
Fizz stands as the largest college social app in the United States, empowering Generation Z to forge connections through shared experiences and identities. Our vibrant Fizz communities offer a private, moderated feed of posts exclusively from verified students, ensuring an engaging and authentic representation of student life. With our latest initiative, Global Fizz, we connect Gen Z nationwide, catering to the vast 99% of life that remains unexplored on typical entertainment platforms like Instagram and TikTok. Fizz is dedicated to revitalizing the essence of social media.
Our Achievements
Since our launch at Stanford in July 2021, we have successfully onboarded over 95% of undergraduates, with half of them utilizing Fizz daily. Following our $25 million Series B funding in July 2023, we have solidified our position as the leading community platform across more than 700 colleges, begun generating revenue through innovative advertising, and are ambitiously expanding into broader communities beyond college.
Future Aspirations
Looking ahead to 2025-2026, our primary objectives include a comprehensive expansion into the entire U. S. college market, driving revenue growth through our groundbreaking advertising business, and rapidly enhancing our product to establish Fizz as the go-to social platform for all of Generation Z, transcending just U. S. college students.
As a Fizz intern, you will harness your own experiences as a Fizz user to contribute directly to a product you are passionate about. We strive to empower our engineering interns with the same level of responsibility and autonomy as our full-time engineers, allowing you to oversee significant initiatives from inception to completion. Interns will work full-time from our NYC office and will receive a housing stipend along with competitive financial compensation.
Your Responsibilities
Conceive, design, deploy, and refine new product features from start to finish (example projects include developing advanced systems utilizing LLMs for content moderation, architecting a content recommendation system to enhance the Fizzin feed, creating new product features such as campus events or job postings, and much more).
Produce clean, efficient, and scalable code that aligns with project requirements.
Design and implement RESTful APIs that are scalable, reliable, and secure.
Collaborate closely with senior engineers to support ongoing projects and tasks.
