QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a related discipline. Minimum of 1 year of experience in robotics development, industrial automation, or autonomous driving. Solid theoretical understanding of localization or calibration methodologies. Proficiency in C++ programming language. Experience working with Linux-based operating systems (such as Ubuntu or Debian) and Robot Operating System (ROS/ROS2) middleware, alongside OpenCV. Demonstrated experience with non-linear optimization techniques like graph-based optimization or filtering algorithms including EKF, UKF, and Particle Filters. Hands-on experience with various sensors, such as LiDAR, cameras, IMUs, GPS/GNSS, and radar systems. Exceptional communication skills and a collaborative mindset with a strong aptitude for problem-solving.

Your Role

As a Software Engineer specializing in Localization, Calibration & Mapping, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and addressing deficiencies within our existing localization and mapping systems for both indoor and outdoor environments.

  • Implementing, deploying, testing, and maintaining advanced localization capabilities for our autonomous systems.

  • Overseeing sensor calibration across various sensors, timeframes, and vehicles.

  • Creating online validation and calibration tools to enhance system performance.

  • Developing and maintaining topographical maps that reflect the operational environment.

  • Collaborating effectively with the localization and autonomy teams (including planning, perception, and infrastructure) to ensure successful deployment of our autonomous systems.
