About Tripadvisor The Tripadvisor Group connects people to unforgettable experiences and aspires to be the world's most trusted source for travel advice. Leveraging our brands, technological innovations, and extensive capabilities, we connect our global audience with partners through engaging content, travel guidance, and comprehensive marketplaces for experiences, accommodations, restaurants, and various travel categories. Our portfolio includes well-known brands such as Tripadvisor, Viator, and TheFork. The Tripadvisor Experiences Engineering team, which operates across Europe, is responsible for our platform, mobile applications, and their supporting infrastructures. We manage systems that empower operators to grow their businesses while enabling third parties to utilize our inventory effectively. Moreover, we equip our customer service team with the tools necessary to deliver exceptional support to travelers and operators worldwide. We are seeking a Software Engineer II to join our rapidly expanding team. This role is open to candidates located within a reasonable commuting distance (generally within 1.5 hours) of our office hub in Kraków. While we advocate for flexible work arrangements, we also appreciate the value of meaningful in-person interactions for collaboration. Expect a predominantly remote work model, complemented by periodic in-person gatherings at your nearest office for team connection, strategic planning, or significant events. Within Tripadvisor Experiences, we cultivate a fun and collaborative environment focused on achieving results. Our engineers collaborate closely with product managers and designers, participating in the entire development process from software design to coding, testing, deployment, and iteration. Most of our engineers deploy code to production every few days, following a daily release cycle. Our engineers are adaptable and enjoy tackling diverse technical challenges. This position is primarily backend-focused, though you will occasionally engage in frontend projects. While a willingness to learn is essential, you do not need to be a frontend expert right away—training will be provided during onboarding, and frontend skills will not be assessed during interviews. Our technology stack includes Java, React, TypeScript, GraphQL, Kubernetes, SQL, and NoSQL databases, all hosted on AWS. You do not need to have experience with every technology listed, but a strong desire to learn is crucial. You should have experience in a statically typed, object-oriented language such as Java, C#, or C++.
