Role Overview The Forward Deployed Engineer works closely with founders and AI Product Managers to design and implement AI-driven solutions for CommerceIQ’s clients. This high-visibility role reports to the Head of AI Strategy and Outcomes. The position is based at the Mountain View headquarters and involves regular collaboration with the executive team, the engineering group in Bangalore, and daily interaction with enterprise customers. This is a foundational role in building CommerceIQ’s forward deployed engineering function, with a direct impact on how brands use AI in ecommerce. Location and Travel This is an on-site position in Mountain View, CA. Expect approximately 50% travel to client locations. What You’ll Do Prototype Development: Work with the AI Product Manager to identify client challenges, define use cases, and build functional prototypes. Create operational demos for both prospective and current clients through hands-on discovery. Data Integration & AI Agent Creation: Gather data from sources such as ERPs, ecommerce platforms, and custom APIs. Build agents that address use cases uncovered during discovery, adapting business rules into flexible configurations. Ownership of AI Outcomes: Monitor and take responsibility for AI performance metrics, ensuring solutions meet client goals.
