Your Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.4+ years of backend development experience. Proficiency in backend programming languages such as C++, Python, and/or Java. Experience in designing distributed systems. Strong collaboration and communication abilities. Preferred Qualifications:Professional experience in developing modern C++ production software. Familiarity with Google infrastructure tools (e.g., Borg, Protocol Buffers, Spanner). Knowledge of engineering artifacts, reliability monitoring, documentation, integration testing, production hygiene, and support processes. Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams that include non-technical stakeholders.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain C++ software systems, tools, and infrastructure to support real-world event and incident response.
  • Build and enhance mission-critical tools and systems to enable Waymo to scale and expand into new markets.
  • Collaborate effectively with Product, UX, and other engineering teams to develop systems and processes that adapt to evolving business needs.
  • Deliver innovative solutions to challenges in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
