We are on the lookout for an Early Career Software Engineer, equipped with robust programming capabilities, to join our engineering team. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with seasoned engineers and quantitative researchers to construct the essential infrastructure that fuels systematic trading, encompassing data pipelines, backtesting tools, and execution systems. This is an exciting opportunity to engage in greenfield development projects, where you will play a crucial role in building new systems from the ground up, fostering innovation and efficiency in our technology stack.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in the full lifecycle development of low-latency, high-throughput research and trading systems utilizing C++, C, Java, or Rust.
- Design and optimize data processing pipelines to guarantee reliable access to large, high-quality datasets.
- Contribute to the development of tools for backtesting, model training, and strategy evaluation.
- Collaborate with researchers and traders to implement technical solutions that enhance research productivity and trading performance.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to uphold high-quality standards.
- Keep informed about emerging technologies, tools, and best practices, introducing innovative ideas to continuously improve our systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming principles.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C++, C, Python, Java, or Rust.
- Familiarity with Linux environments.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and a keen ability to learn quickly in a team-oriented environment.

The base salary range for this position is $130,000 - $175,000, determined by the candidate’s educational and professional background. The base salary is one aspect of Trexquant’s total compensation, which may also include a discretionary, performance-based bonus. This role is classified as overtime-exempt.
