As a vital part of this team, you will be at the forefront of safeguarding against financial exploitation, large-scale attacks, and other forms of misuse that could jeopardize the user experience and operational stability.
The Integrity division within Applied Foundations is tasked with developing scalable systems that identify and respond to harmful activities on OpenAI's platforms. We are establishing a pioneering team in London to design next-generation systems that will enhance and scale the capabilities of experts addressing harms associated with our technology.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement scalable foundational systems for the detection, tracking, and enforcement of harmful activities using our technologies.
Collaborate closely with both technical and non-technical specialists to gain insights into the harms we observe stemming from our platforms, guiding your design and implementation processes.
Utilize OpenAI’s cutting-edge technologies to automate and enhance our ability to swiftly and accurately detect and analyze complex harms with minimal human intervention.
Work alongside policy, trust and safety operations, legal teams, and engineers specializing in harm mitigation to comprehensively address abusive behaviors leveraging OpenAI’s technology.
Stay updated on the latest techniques and tools to remain ahead of resourceful adversaries.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience focusing on backend and data systems.
At least 2 years of experience in trust and safety analysis, investigations, and/or operational roles.
Passionate about learning from leading experts on AI-related harms and eager to collaborate within an interdisciplinary team comprising both technical and non-technical roles.
Ability to navigate our codebase intuitively, providing insights that strengthen our engineering capabilities.
A relentless desire to learn and acquire new skills, coupled with the ability to effectively communicate this knowledge to others.
