Role Overview The Senior Staff Software Engineer will join the Fable Core team, which manages the backend infrastructure for Fable, Scribd’s social reading app. Fable brings together over a million monthly active users, helping them discover books, join book clubs, and develop reading habits. The app has earned recognition in the App Store, including App of the Day and Essential Book Apps. What You Will Do Shape the technical direction of Fable’s backend, focusing on platform reliability and system health. Collaborate with product management, design, machine learning, and infrastructure teams to build dependable backend systems from broad product concepts. Lead incident response and mentor team members to enhance the team’s capabilities. Play a significant role in a small, high-impact team where every member’s contributions are important.
