Key Responsibilities for SDETs at Collibra Define, create, and execute both manual and automated tests for customer user journeys, ensuring they reflect real-world scenarios. Develop robust automation scripts and scalable frameworks using tools such as Cypress, Playwright, Rest Assured, JMeter, and Selenium. Build, maintain, and integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines utilizing GitHub Actions and Jenkins while managing test environments with containerization technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm. Combine strong coding capabilities with exploratory and manual testing to identify edge cases that may be overlooked by automation. You will also define, create, and maintain complex test data. Employ observability tools (Grafana, Datadog) to assess test outcomes, pinpoint bottlenecks, and collaborate with system architects and engineers to optimize configurations. Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Architecture teams to comprehend customer context, promote shift-left testing practices, and assist colleagues in enhancing their testing skills. Utilize the scientific method (observe, research, hypothesize, test, conclude) to systematically simplify complex configurations into manageable tasks, track issues to resolution, report on quality metrics, and integrate emerging trends to boost ROI.

Become a Key Member of Collibra’s Customer Experience Testing Team

We are seeking a skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our team and play an essential role in guaranteeing the quality, scalability, and reliability of our software applications. In this position, you will independently lead quality initiatives, advocate for a shift-left testing approach, and consistently uphold high performance standards. Your responsibilities will include testing the installation and deployment of software across various cloud providers, as well as defining, creating, and executing both manual and automated tests for intricate customer user journeys. You will explore a diverse range of testing tools, foster quality awareness throughout the Product and Engineering organization, and develop scalable pipelines and frameworks that align with our business objectives.

This is a hybrid position based in our Raleigh office, where you will work from the office at least two days a week. This model fosters collaboration, strengthens team connections, and drives continued progress.
