About the Role
As a Heavy Equipment Service Technician, you will be essential in ensuring our customers' heavy equipment operates at optimal performance. This hands-on role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a diverse range of machinery, delivering exceptional service with expertise and efficiency while prioritizing customer satisfaction. You will collaborate across departments to meet customer needs swiftly and professionally.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and execute complex repairs in the shop or field, addressing issues related to pumps, hydraulics, engines, transmissions, HVAC systems, and electrical components.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment as per the schedule.
- Complete work orders promptly.
- Maintain open communication with the service manager.
- Keep daily truck inspection logs and ensure a clean and organized work environment.
- Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills for reporting purposes.
- Utilize computer literacy to transmit information efficiently via email.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in shop or field heavy equipment troubleshooting and repair.
- Technical certifications or an Associate's Degree in a relevant field.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical theories and principles.
- Ability to work within set timeframes, multitask, and adhere to procedures.
- Capability to work independently with limited supervision and exercise sound judgment.
- Strong interpersonal skills to maintain positive working relationships and handle challenging situations professionally.
- Ability to obtain a forklift license.
- Must provide tools suitable for heavy equipment repair.
- A valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record is required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to maneuver around and crawl under equipment to conduct repairs.
- Willingness to work safely in all weather conditions.
- Capacity to lift and handle heavy loads up to 55 lbs.
- Ability to visually and audibly diagnose and troubleshoot equipment.
