Role overview

This Signal Processing Engineer role is located in Costa Mesa, CA. The position centers on developing discrimination algorithms for space and missile defense, using EO/IR sensor data to separate threats from decoys, debris, and clutter. The work involves designing signal processing pipelines for detection, feature extraction, image processing, and advanced decision logic to enhance classification accuracy.

What you will do

  • Develop algorithms for EO/IR sensors to classify and distinguish threats from decoys, debris, and clutter in real-time scenarios.
  • Design and implement signal processing pipelines, covering detection, feature extraction, image processing, and measurement generation from sensor data.
  • Create and integrate advanced decision logic to improve classification and adapt to evolving threat environments.
  • Analyze and optimize algorithms based on EO/IR sensor phenomenology, accounting for noise, signal-to-noise ratio, resolution, and environmental factors.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in EO/IR sensor signal processing, classification algorithms, detection theory, and algorithm development.
